Jump Jam & Jive
Downtown Boise will come alive with a free concert series again this summer, with the new Jump Jam & Jive.
The eight-show lineup will start Tuesday, June 8th, and run just about every other week at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place – in the plaza between JUMP and the JR Simplot Co. headquarters.
Karlee May and Steve Fulton joined together to bring the new summer concert series to downtown. May is the former events director for the Downtown Boise Association, and Fulton has been producing concerts in the area since 1995 – including the Boise Music Festival.
Jump, Jam & Jive will help fill a gap for live summer music left by the cancellation of Alive After Five. The Downtown Boise Association, which has long produced the series, decided to drop the event this year. It laid off May last fall. The DBA said it hoped to return its event in the summer of 2022.
The event will start June 8th, starting each week at 5pm with a nonprofit, youth or community group. Then at 6pm, a lineup of local professional musicians will entertain the crowd until 8pm.
he event will run every other week, except for the end of the season when Jump Jam & Jive will run for two straight weeks on August 31 and September 7.
May & Fulton gave BoiseDev an exclusive first look at the summer lineup:
